Könnölä Holiday Farm is located in the heart of Häme region in southern Finland, by many ponds and wooded ridges. We are located 20 km from Hämeenlinna and 120 km from Helsinki. Our cottages have been built to the wilderness on our farm of 120 hectares.
Relaxing holidays & elegant venue for parties and meetings
We rent eight, with all comforts equipped villas throughout the year. All cottages (excluding Koivumäki) have a private beach . In the spring of 2015 we finished the renovation of the old byre. The Old Byre is now a a spectacular and elegant venue for meetings and events. The space can accommodate up to 180 people in one open space. Our farm has also a traditional smoke sauna with a hot tub and a hut for grilling. We also rent a moveable hot tub which you can rent for your own cottage.
A traditional family farm
Könnölä farm is an old family estate, which has been managed by the same family since the 16th century. Pirkko and Mauri started Mauri’s home farm as the sixth host in 1986. We are a traditional family farm growing cereals, hay and forestry. Tourism has over the years developed into a large part of our farm operation as it originally was just a small side business.
The farmyard is traditional, beautiful rural cultural landscape. In the past our farm had horses, a pony, chickens and roosters, sheep, rabbits, cows and beef cattle. We gave up dairy cows at turn of the millennium, and we took beef cattle in their place. Now the meat production has also been abandoned and the byre has been renovated into an elegant banquet and meeting space. Tourism is where we want to invest in the future.
